Gauthier Guerin is an independent researcher and practitioner based in Leeds, United Kingdom, with a background in Physics, Environmental Studies and Co-operatives. They are now part of the REAL project through a research contract with UNIL, exploring the democratisation of provisioning systems and the characteristics and principles of post-growth economic institutions.
Their research interests lie in social-ecological transformation with a focus on understanding the institutional structuring of provisioning logics, the mechanisms for decommodication, the integration of qualitative and quantitative aspects of the economy, and the development of an institutional formulation of economic dynamics. Gauthier is also a co-operative development consultant as part of Catalyst Collective. Specifically, they work towards creating and democratising decommodified forms of housing provisions, and financing institutions.
