Omer Tayyab is a doctoral researcher based at ICTA-UAB. He has previously held various economics advisory roles in Canada as a public servant. Within the REAL project, he is working on developing strategies for Global-South governments to reorient their productive forces towards self-sufficiency, and away from servicing local and Northern elites. Omer has a master’s degree in Economics from McGill university in Quebec, Canada. For him, degrowth offers a vision of an egalitarian world to replace the unequal international order of today.
